My Premier League Predictions for the 23/24 season

1. Liverpool

That Liverpool squad looks nice, that’s all I’m going to say. Never have I seen them so lively in midfield during Klopp’s era and that’s a testament to the kind of talent they have bought in this transfer window.

A few twitches here and there in defence might do them good, but like they say, offence can be a great defence.

And with a forward line consisting of Salah, Diaz, Gakpo, Nunez, Doak, and Jota, Liverpool are packing all the heat. It honestly shouldn’t be hard for them to come across a trophy next season.

Salah might also take up a creative role this season, thus paving the way for Gakpo, Nunez, and Jota to be the club’s finishers.

2. Manchester City

I put City second because I feel like their offensive output won’t be the same as last season.

Because Pep won the treble – and the UCL at long last, City will most probably take their foot a bit off the pedal.

Norwegian starlet Erling Haaland is going to be class as the season before, but a decline in De Bruyne’s effectiveness should be expected in my opinion.

3. Arsenal

Arsenal have been the busiest of the lot during the transfer window, signing the likes of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurien Timber, but I don’t think their signings are going to be enough to trump Liverpool and current champs Manchester City.

Their fine form from last season was a bizarre incident which in my opinion should prove hard to replicate for them this coming season.

Anyhow, the Gunners shall find comfort in finishing ahead of their rivals Tottenham Hotspurs and Chelsea, but I don’t see them being as good as they were last season.

4. Manchester United

Should Man United make some more signings before the transfer window close then they would be higher in the standings. Erik Ten Hag has a beautiful rebuild coming along at Man United but what may bite his arse next season is the lack of quality backup.

Although former captain Harry Maguire has been relegated to the bench, the red devils are an injury away from a calamity in their defence. Kind of like what happened to Arsenal last season when Saliba got injured.

5. Chelsea

I think Chelsea might have a wildcard in Nico Jackson. The partnership between the African forward and new signing Christopher Nkunku is gonna be interesting to watch as they have been combining well in preseason.

Their current style of play is worthy of a fifth position finish – a proper improvement from last season’s horror show. Expect players like Enzo Fernandez and Raheem Sterling to turn up to the party after a rather quiet tenure last season.

6. Newcastle

Newcastle at this point should be expected to frequent a top six finish because of the Saudis. Personally, I see them just shying off the top 4 this coming season.

The financial backing that they have makes it possible for them to buy good players and contend for cups, but their lack of experience at the top level may be what’s going to get them this season. Nonetheless, I trust Eddie Howe to do a stellar job.

7. Aston Villa

When Emery took over from Steven Gerrard last season, we started to see a well rejuvenated Villa side which I think that with the inclusion of players like Moussa Diaby, who’s gonna be bringing in the goals, and Pau Torres, to stabilise the defence, may flourish.

The team already has a solid squad to build from, it’s all going to come down to how consistent the team gets when the going gets rough.

8. Tottenham Hotspurs

Ange seems like a good coach and has a really good understanding of the game but even he cannot save this Spurs side. And with Harry Kane poised on a move away from the lilywhites, it already seems a hopeless season for Spurs, who left unchecked may suffer the same fall from grace as Everton.

The addition of James Maddison to the club’s roster brings life to their midfield, but what good is that if you’re going to be feeding Richarlison those chances?
