GK: Jose Sa (11CS + 1A)

Jose Sa has been one of the signings of the season and has had an impressive season at Wolves. Whilst I could have gone for Liverpool’s Alisson or City’s Ederson, Sa has been a key player in Wolves’ fight for European football qualification and I believe he is deserving of being in the FIFA 22 Premier League Team of the Season.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold (17CS, 12A & 3GS)

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been fantastic once again this season and has been one of the standout players for Liverpool, providing a record-equalling 12 Assists from Right-back. That right there earns him a spot in my Team of the Season.
CB: Virgil Van Dijk (21CS, 3GS)

It’s no secret that Virgil Van Dijk is a Rolls-Royce of a defender, but coming back from a long-term injury that the Liverpool man had, and providing such stellar performances week in- week out should earn him a spot in my TOTS.
CB: Thiago Silva (10CS, 3GS)

Thiago Silva just edges out Ruben Dias, Joel Matip and Antonio Rudiger for me. The Brazilian has been crucial for Chelsea all season and, despite being 37, continues to show his quality and contribute heavily to Chelsea’s performances under Thomas Tuchel.
LB: Joao Cancelo (19CS, 7A & 1G)

Joao Cancelo is my first choice left-back, with the Portuguese international proving himself as one of the world’s best in his new position.
DM: Rodri (7GS, 2A)

Ever since he found his feet at Manchester City, Rodri has hardly ever put a foot wrong for Guardiola’s man, and his stats say just that. Able to score a cracker when the team is in need, Rodri plays a pivotal role in City’s defence and progressive play.
RCM: Mason Mount (11GS, 10A)

Like it or not, Mason Mount is a key player for Chelsea and Chelsea play better with him on the pitch. Being one of only three players to hit double goals and assists in the Premier League, his goal scoring and chance creating prowess should not go unnoticed.
LCM: Kevin De Bruyne (15GS, 8A)

Starting the season slow, Kevin De Bruyne made sure that he would eventually turn up when his team needed him the most. His crucial goals have made sure that City retain the Premier League title.
RW: Mohamed Salah (23GS, 13A)

Topping the Goalscoring charts and Playmaking charts, Salah’s inclusion in this team of the season was a given from the get-go. Finishing Second behind City, Salah carried Liverpool and made certain that the title race was down to the wire.
ST: Son Hueng-min (23GS, 7A)

After a relatively quiet first half of the season, Son has become explosive under Antonio Conte and had one of his best-ever seasons.
LW: Jarrod Bowen (12 GS, 10A)

West Ham needed a spark from somewhere to get their season back on the straight and narrow and Jarrod Bowen provided just that. Netting 12 times and providing 10 times this season, such intelligence in and around the goalpost should earn him not only a spot in the Team of the Season, but an England call-up too.
